SFB 884: Political Economy of Reforms
The SFB 884 "Political Economy of Reforms" is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the period 2010-2013 with the opportunity for extension to 2021. The aim of this Collaborative Research Centre is to gain novel insights into the constraints on political reforms in welfare states. To this end, the multidisciplinary Centre brings together more than 20 senior and junior researchers from economics, political science, and sociology.

CRC / TR 15: Governance and the Efficiency of Economic Systems
This CRC was founded in 2004 and is the first CRC in the area of economics affiliating five centres of research (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin and the Universities of Bonn, Mannheim and München) in a research network. The subject of the study the consequences of the revolution of information and communication technologies on national and international markets and organisations.

CRC 504: Concepts of Rationality, Behaviour in Decision-Making Processes and Economic Modelling
The objective of the CRS 504, which was founded in 1997, is to reasses and develop modells of human decision-making behaviour which differ from traditional economic approaches. Here, the institutional sourroundings' influence on a decision maker's rationality are examinded. New economic theories on the subject are tested applying empirical studies. Scientists from Mannheim, Karlsruhe and Heidelberg work closely together on three thematic projects.
