Life, Accomodation & Social Services
Excellent teaching and research is not the only factor for successful studies. The students union is responsible for financial aid, the on-campus canteen and cafeteria, housing in the student's halls of residence, the childrens' daycare centre, the social- and psychotherapeutic advice centre as well as the administration of the term ticket for public transport.

Sport
The city of Mannheim offers a wide range of possiblities for sports enthousiasts. The most popular sports attraction of the city is the local ice-hockey club "Adler Mannheim" (Mannheim Eagles), which won the national championships five-times. Those who want to get active by themselves will find a wide range of sport courses at the university's Sports Institute.

Celebration & Parties
During the lecture periods the legendary "Schneckenof-Parties" take place every Thursday evening in one of the universities yards, the so-called "Schneckenhof". Every party is organised by a different school and has it's own motto. During winter the parties take place in the university`s catacombs. Furthermore the city of Mannheim offers a lot of other spots for going out.

The University and region of Mannheim offer a wide range of events and possibilities for spending leisure time. In addition the city is packed with lively bars, venues and cinemas. Campus-Shop
The Campus Shop is to be found in the east wing of the mannheim castle and offers brochures, books and postcards as well as t-shirts, cups and jumpers with the university's emblem. Furthermore the shop includes a small kiosk selling coffee, snacks and refreshments.
