Thanks to the funding of a graduate college by the German Science Foundation (DFG) there are for the first year of doctoral studies at the CDSEM approximately 10 full grants available. Afterwards, students are funded either through grants or research and teaching assistantships. The decision about the form of continuition finance is made after the first year of doctoral studies. First year grants are in the range of € 1.100 and € 1.400 (not subject to income taxation).
