Orientations
In the week before classes begin, the International Office holds various orientation programmes that provide you with important information for your stay and for the organization of your class schedule. You should definitely attend these meetings! In addition, the schools also hold orientations and organize events to introduce you to the student life in Mannheim (for example pub tours). These events are also a great opportunity to meet German students. A detailed programme of the Welcome Week will be given out following your arrival at the International Office. In order to take part in all of the events offered, we strongly recommend you to come to Mannheim at least a week before the lectures start!
Introduction to Uni Mannheim's academic system spring semester 2012
This introduction by the International Office is especially for exchange students. Here you will get practical advice and important information about the University of Mannheim, your studies, choosing courses and information about who to contact if you have any problems. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions about your stay and your studies in Mannheim.
The introduction is obligatory for all exchange students and will be held in English and in German.

Campus Tour
During this tour of the campus you will receive further information about studying, the University's facilities and also about the city of Mannheim. Students will be divided up according to their course of study and faculty. This way you will get to know all of the important points of reference at the University of Mannheim and get other important pieces of advice.

Welcome Reception for international students by the International Office
In addition to the campus tour we invite you all to a reception. Here you will have the opportunity to get to know all staff members of the International Office and also make contact with other exchange students in a very relaxed atmosphere. Representatives of student organisations will also present their programme of events for the fall semester.
