Why Mannheim?

  • A successfully distinct profile

The University of Mannheim is characterized by its renowned  business administration, economics, and social sciences faculties.  Further areas of study including law, mathematics, informatics, and the humanities are also widely recognized for their high academic quality  and are closely interrelated with the university's business and social sciences faculties.  With approximately 11,000 students, the University of Mannheim is also the ideal size: it is large enough to offer a variety of courses, but is still easily accessible. In addition, the University of Mannheim is considered to be one of the leading academic institutions in Germany and Europe and has received numerous high rankings and awards for its quality of research and teaching:

  • The Business School is the first institution in Germany to be accredited by the three most important organizations AMBA (London/UK), AACSB International (Tampa/USA) and EQUIS (Brussels/Belgium). At this time, there are only 33 Business Schools worldwide that have this same accreditation.
  • In 2007, the Economics and Political Science faculties took first place in the most comprehensive ranking in Germany conducted by the Centre for Higher Education Development

  • Internationality

    • International Academic Calendar
The University of Mannheim is the only German University to adopt an international, more common academic calendar:  the fall semester starts in September and ends in December (with all examinations finished by Christmas), whereas the spring semester starts in February and ends in June (spring-break included).
    • The University of Mannheim currently maintains approximately 300 partnerships with universities all over the world, more than 200 of them in Europe.
