Outgoing Students

The University of Mannheim currently maintains approximately 300 partnerships with universities all over the world. These partnerships include student and teacher exchanges as well as various types of scientific research programmes.

One of the most prolific European exchange programmes for students is the ERASMUS Programme. One hundred seventy partnership agreements exist within this programme between numerous universities throughout Europe. These agreements serve to foster the mobility of students and teachers between different European countries. The ERASMUS Programme is supported by the European Union.

With regards to overseas programmes, the University of Mannheim coordinates student exchange programmes with over 130 other universities in the Americas, Asia, and Australia. In addition, the University of Mannheim participates in nine regional Baden-Württemberg state programmes with several different states and provinces in Canada, Mexico, Australia and the USA. Students also have the option to study at four American universities as a part of the ISAP programme (International Studies and Education Partnership), supported by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).

Students who wish to study abroad should contact the International Office for the necessary information and advice. We recommend attending the 'introductory session studying abroad' first as it provides basic information.

On the following websites, full-time students at the University of Mannheim who are interested in studying abroad can find information about programmes, partner universities, scholarships and application procedures.

Additionally, the brochure "Studieren im Ausland" offers a survey of necessary information concerning studying abroad. (Published by Servicestelle Studieninformation, -orientierung und -beratung (SIOB) des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg).

As this brochure is only available in German, please contact us if you would like some assistance.
