For me, the bachelor's program in Business Informatics constitutes a successful combination of Business Administration and Computer Science, which could hardly be more in line with current demands. I chose this program to seek the best possible preparation for my future professional career and with one goal in mind: to do my part in promoting digitalization. The fact that the University of Mannheim is one of Germany's best universities makes studying here very appealing. In addition, as a competitive athlete, I have access to extensive support granted in the framework of the Elite Student Athletes Scholarship Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region, which helps me perform better at university while practicing top-class sports.
Nowadays, no business transaction can be concluded without large amounts of data and information being involved. Using computer software to handle this data efficiently and having a machine perform the task autonomously is fascinating to me. The degree program stands out from others because it equips you with skills that have a diverse scope of application. This variety makes for an exciting study experience.
I really liked how the program combined Computer Science, Business Administration and Business Informatics with a wide range of soft skills seminars. That exact combination is required in my current job as an IT consultant. The key competences, presentation techniques and rhetoric, are also very useful in my daily work.

The bachelor’s program in Business Informatics teaches students the basic principles of business informatics, computer science, business administration, and mathematics. Special emphasis is placed on computer science skills. Exercise courses, seminars and programming courses give students the chance to extend and apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
Students then choose to specialize in one of the disciplines in the fifth and sixth semesters. The interdisciplinary structure of the bachelor's program in Business Informatics, its practical orientation, and the inclusion of soft skills seminars mean that graduates of the program are sought-after on the national and international labor markets.

In our selection process for the Bachelor's Program in Business Informatics, we take the following criteria into account:
- the grade average achieved in your university entrance qualification,
- the grades achieved in German, Mathematics (double weighting), your best foreign language, and either your best scientific subject or informatics. If informatics is counted as best scientific subject, it cannot be additionally recognized. The best combination for you will be chosen automatically.
- solid knowledge of English
- relevant work experience and extracurricular activities.
