ATTENTION: During the workshop several major events will take place in Mannheim and the surrounding area.
This means that the availability of hotel rooms is low and the prices are accordingly high. We strongly advise you to book as early as possible, to team up with other workshop participants, and to use platforms like www.airbnb.de or www.couchsurfing.com.
As of 29.03.2019, possible accommodations in the area that still have rooms available:
Arrival by bus and train
The Mannheim central station is a well-connected ICE hub and in close proximity to the university. The Mannheim ZOB long-distance bus station is also located there.
From there you can take the tram lines 1, 5/
Alternatively, you can easily reach the university by foot in about 10 minutes. Walk straight on from the main exit of the train station to the large intersection. When you reach it, turn left into Bismarckstraße. You will reach the university's castle building after about 5–10 minutes walking time.
Arriving by car
You can reach us by car via the A6, exit “Mannheim Mitte” onto the A656, which becomes the B37. At the Planetarium, turn left and follow the signs to the university, staying on the B37. After passing the main station, you will find yourself on Bismarckstraße, which runs directly in front of the castle. The main entrance to the university is in the east wing, which you will see on your left. We recommend the underground car park under the mensa.
Directions to the event room
The event will take place in room O138 (Fuchs-Petrolub-Saal). To get there, enter the university through the main entrance on the east wing. This entrance is located directly on Bismarckstraße, east of the university's main square (Ehrenhof). From the main entrance take the main staircase to get to the first floor (ignoring the mezzanine floor). You will find yourself directly in front of the event room.
