A master’s degree is a second qualification obtained from a higher education institution (Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Education, Master of Laws, etc.) and enables graduates to start a career right away. To enroll in a master’s program, you must first successfully complete a bachelor’s program. Master's programs usually last for two years and enable students to expand their knowledge of a core subject, or focus on an interdisciplinary subject. Master’s programs also tend to either be practice-oriented or more research-oriented.
