Career

During my studies of Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim, I focused on business psychology and personnel. In addition to my studies, I worked at the Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology and for a business consultancy, a spin-off company of the chair, which was the perfect foundation for entering the world of work. After working in HR management and consulting for three years, I started a job at a recruitment agency focusing on the consulting and technology industries. In 2011, I started working for my current employer where I transitioned from general manager to CEO.

Tips for starting your career

If you decide to enroll in a program in the social sciences, you should think about what to do with your degree early on. The programs usually have an interdisciplinary approach, which allows you to choose specific topics that suit you most. My tip: specialize in an area according to your preferences and skills as soon as possible. In addition to your studies, you should also gain practical experience as a working student or intern in an area of your interest. In this way, you can clearly highlight the added value you can provide to a company when starting your career.

Relevance of the studied program

At the University of Mannheim I gained considerable methodological and technical knowledge through working conceptually on analytically challenging issues and applying empirical methods. At the same time, I was introduced to leading enterprises through presentations and workshops for students.
