How to automatically sort out spam mail

To automatically move emails marked as spam to your “Junk Email” folder, you can create a mailbox rule. This means you will have less work with spam emails because you no longer have to move these emails yourself. Please note:
Emails may be wrongly marked as spam and moved to the “Junk Email” folder. Please check this folder regularly!

1. Go to https://exchange.uni-mannheim.de in your browser and login with your Uni-ID and the corresponding password.

2. Click on the gear symbol in the upper right corner and then on “Options”:

3. Then click on “Inbox and sweep rules” and then on the “+” symbol:

4. Enter a name for the rule in the “Name” field, e.g. “Move Spam Mails”.

5. Under “When the message arrives, and it matches all of these conditions”, select the entry “It includes these words” and then “in the message header…”:

6. Copy the value “X-Spam-Flag: YES“ (without quotation marks) and then click on the “+” symbol:
Please make sure to make the distinction between upper case and lower case letters!

7. Confirm the entry by clicking the “OK” button.

8. Under “Do all of the following”, select the entry “Move, copy, or delete” and then the entry “Move the message to folder...”:

9. Select the “Junk Email” folder in the window which opens and confirm this by clicking the “OK” button:

11. If you want to, you can disable and enable this rule by unchecking or checking the box for the rule and then clicking on the “OK” button to save the changes.

12. By clicking on “Options” in the upper left corner, you can return to the account view.
