As in previous years, we are also pleased to organise the interdisciplinary MIFE Early Career Workshop (November 21–22, 2023). We invite early career researchers from the fields of economics, household finance, economic and business education, psychology, and related disciplines to submit their papers to attend the Early Career Workshop. Please follow the submission guidelines. Submission Deadline is September 15, 2023. Acceptance decisions will be communicated by mid-October 2023. Additionally, authors are asked to identify themselves as PhD students, postdocs or assistant professors when submitting their paper in order to be considered for the workshop and the Early Career Research Prize.
Topics of interest include: Financial literacy and financial decision-making | design and effectiveness of financial education | understanding of monetary policy measures / institutions and their effectiveness | assessment and handling of financial risks | digitalisation and financial literacy | credit knowledge / borrowing / repayment behaviour / over-indebtedness | financial resilience and financial literacy | and related topics.
Jointly with the sponsor Deutsche Bundesbank, we will award the Early Career Research Prize on Financial Literacy (up to two prices for € 2,500 each) for outstanding contributions, which will be selected among the submitted papers. The award ceremony will take place as a highlight at the end of the 3rd MIFE conference (November 20).
Participation at the Early Career Workshop is free of charge. Participants on site are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs. The Early Career Workshop is currently planned as face-to-face event. Adjustments to applicable Covid-19 measures are reserved.
