In the current “QS World University Ranking by Subject”, the University of Mannheim has been named the best German university in the Social Sciences and Management category. In a worldwide comparison, the university has been ranked number 55 and thus improved by 20 places compared to the previous year. “The University of Mannheim is in fierce competition with top universities from all over the world. I am all the more pleased that we have not only regained our position at the top of the German universities, but have also been able to consolidate our excellent international position,” commented Prof. Dr. Thomas Puhl, President of the University of Mannheim.
In the Social Sciences and Management category, the University of Mannheim was evaluated in seven different areas. The university was particularly successful in the areas of Accounting & Finance, Business & Management Studies and Economics & Econometrics, where it ranked first in Germany in each case. In Politics & International Studies and Sociology, the University of Mannheim ranked number 2. In Psychology, which is assigned to the Life Sciences & Medicine category in the QS ranking, the University of Mannheim ranked fourth in Germany.
