Enactus Mannheim e.V. has claimed the Enactus National Cup 2019 for its innovative projects in the academic year 2018/2019. The student organization from Mannheim triumphed against 33 Enactus teams from across Germany. As the national champion, they will compete against winning teams from around the globe at the World Cup 2019 in Silicon Valley from 16 - 18 September.
The decision was made by a jury comprised of roughly 30 members from the fields of business and science. The judges’ assessment was mainly based on how the student organizations manage to use social entrepreneurial action to improve people’s social, economic and ecological living conditions in an effective and sustainable way. Enactus Mannheim was awarded for two projects in particular: BLAUHERZ., an inclusive fashion start-up, and ReSoil, a project supporting small farmers in Uganda and Zambia in making agriculture more efficient and environment-friendly.
The Mannheim team has already claimed the title for the seventh time – more than any other German student organization in the history of the competition.
