Joachim Lutz is highly motivated to promote the Business School of the University of Mannheim: “The University of Mannheim is renowned for its program in Business Administration and enjoys an excellent reputation within Germany. But as the best German Business School, it is very important to develop our research and teaching, also with regards to current questions on corporate management. It is a wonderful challenge for me to make the Business School of the University of Mannheim known outside of Germany and to strengthen its international position.”

Professor Thomas Puhl, President of the University of Mannheim, says: “I am very happy that we were able to recruit Joachim Lutz as the dean of our Business School. He brings much expertise and many years of management experience as CFO and CEO of a successful business from Mannheim to the table. This will help to make research and teaching at the Business School of the University of Mannheim even more competitive. Furthermore, Joachim Lutz is an alumni of the University of Mannheim and feels closely connected to our institution. These are ideal conditions for cooperating successfully within the university and for developing and shaping the schools’ profile.

Dean Lutz will support the school with practical course contents and innovative teaching methods in order to enhance the skills and career opportunities of the students. To this end, he will put a focus on exchanging ideas with experts from the industry from the very beginning. He also aims to promote the quality of the Business School and to recruit the best students and researchers from Germany and all over the world. Lutz sees the broad range of courses as a great strength of the Business School of the University of Mannheim. “We offer excellent programs for students in all stages of their studies, from bachelor's programs up to (E)MBSs at the Mannheim Business School (MBS), the umbrella organization for management education at the University of Mannheim,” says Lutz.
