Mattia Colombo was born on October 9, 1990 in Milan, Italy. He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Milan-Bicocca, where he graduated top of his class (Summa cum Laude). During his studies he spent one semester at the University of Vaasa (Finland) and three months at the University of Heidelberg, where he wrote his Master's thesis under the supervision of Pr. Dr. Christian Conrad. Moreover, he worked one year as research assistant in the Financial Research division of the European Central Bank, focusing on the relationship between financial stress and the macroeconomy.
