Daniel Klein was born in Kassel, Germany. He received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Management with a focus on Finance and Taxation from the University of Mannheim, Germany. During his studies, Daniel spent a semester abroad at the Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA and at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA, respectively. Further, he gained practical experience during internships at SurTec International, KPMG, Horváth and Partners, and Volkswagen Consulting. Moreover, he participated in various student organizations and as a student research assistant. In April 2019, Daniel joined the Chair of International Taxation and subsequently, started the Taxation track at the Center of Doctoral Studies in Business.
