Beate was born in 1994 in Osnabrück (Germany). In 2017, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Cologne where she also gathered teaching experience as tutor for statistics courses. Her studies were supported by the German National Academic Foundation. She then started the Master program in Economics at the University of Mannheim and joined the CDSE through the research track. To gain first research experience, Beate did an internship at the Kiel Institut for the World Economy and worked as research assistant at the Institute for Industrial Economics and Applied Microeconometrics at the University of Cologne as well as the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW).

Her main research interests are in applied microeconometrics, with a focus on issues in environmental, labor and education economics. In her leisure time, Beate enjoys running, playing the guitar, and spending time with family and friends.
