Oliver Pfäuti was born in Thun, Switzerland. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Bern. He then earned a master’s degree in International and Monetary Economics at the Universities of Bern and Basel. In his master’s thesis he examined the distributional consequences of unconventional monetary policy at the zero lower bound.
Oliver’s research interests are in macroeconomics, especially business cycle analysis, incomplete markets and monetary policy. He receives a stipend from the foundation “Geld und Währung”.
