Katharina Burgdorf holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Mannheim. Throughout her studies she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Organizational and Economic Sociology as well as at the Collaborative Research Center 884 “Political Economy of Reforms” in the team of the German Internet Panel. Her research interests include the large-scale study of careers in dynamic organizations such as the film industry. In her master thesis she analyzed with the tools of social network analysis how filmmakers create communities and drive change through different forms of collaboration.
