Johannes Fremerey is a Phd candidate at the Center for Doctoral Studies in Social and Behavioural Sciences. His PhD supervisor is Prof. Dr. Valentin Lang, Assistant Professor for International Political Economy and Development at the MSSS. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Economy from Kings College London and focused in his master thesis on the impact of bilateral trade flows on labour market settings within European countries. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor’s dual degree in sociology, politics and economics from Zeppelin University (Friedrichshafen) and in individualized studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University (New Jersey) with a focus on international relations.
During his Master’s degree Johannes developed a passion for international political economy and development economics. Additionally, he is interested in poverty and inequality research. In London, he focused on quantitative methods and causal inference methods.
