Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS)

The Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at the University of Mannheim provides graduate training in empirical and quantitative methods as well as their application to business, economics, and the social sciences. The 11 full-time three to five year PhD programs provide access to world-class teaching and a vibrant and international faculty at the forefront of cutting-edge research. All programs are characterized by focusing on achieving excellence in research in its own discipline. At the same time the program structure encourages to exchange ideas, methods and approaches to research across the boundaries of the economic and social sciences.

The GESS Center for Doctoral Studies in Social and Behavioral Sciences (CDSS) opens courses for SMiP members to participate in (see SMiP qualification program) and SMiP does so for CDSS students.
