  • AEGEE Mannheim e.V. – European Students' Forum

    AEGEE strives for democracy, tolerance, and a unified Europe. Each year, its members can participate in over 150 events across Europe, giving them the chance to become more familiar with the continent and help shape its future. As an international network of students, AEGEE encourages cultural exchange between young people, and organizes Summer Universities, projects, and working groups.

  • AIESEC Mannheim

    AIESEC is the largest, global student organization, and therefore provides an ideal platform for students to get involved in communities and spend time abroad. As a member, you get to know the structures within an international organization while helping other students to gain exciting experience abroad. AIESEC also gives its members the chance to do an internship abroad, or to participate in a project in a developing country for six to eight weeks, and help achieve the UN Global Goals.

  • Amnesty International Hochschulgruppe 1388 Mannheim

    Amnesty International is a non-governmental organization which fights violations of human rights around the world. Students of the higher education institutions in Mannheim can join group 1388 which is part of the Amnesty network, and is involved in global campaigns. Each semester, the group decides on the areas in which it wants to raise awareness, and organizes campaigns, petitions, and displays.

  • Arbeiterkind.de Mannheim

    Arbeiterkind.de is a charity that supports school children with non-academic backgrounds and encourages them to go on to study. The members of Arbeiterkind.de are in direct contact with the school pupils and advise them on all things related to studying. They give presentations, arrange fairs, and speak to the children in person.

  • Enactus Mannheim e.V.

    Enactus has over 70,000 members worldwide, and is committed to nonprofit projects. The organization aims to find sustainable, lasting solutions to challenges in society using innovative ideas and entrepreneurial action. The range of projects available gives everyone the chance to contribute their ideas, take on responsibility, and work on developing solutions. The ReSoil project, for example, is helping small farm owners in Uganda to improve their diet and income by using soil which is particularly rich in nutrients.

  • KinderHelden Hochschulgruppe

    KinderHelden helps children of elementary school age to improve their self-confidence and their learning abilities. Through the collaborative project, Uni-Cleverlinge2, school pupils are paired up with students from all subject areas. The mentors learn with the children, and do activities with them in groups, such as baking Christmas cookies or looking for Easter eggs.

  • Leselernhelfer Mannheim e.V.

    Members of the Lernleserhelfer organization volunteer at elementary schools in Mannheim to teach disadvantaged children to read. Being able to read well is extremely important for both everyday and working life. The organization’s mentoring program provides each child with supervision that is tailored to his or her needs. Each mentor meets up with their mentee to read for at least an hour every week.

  • MaXperience e.V.

    MaXperience organizes the annual TEDxUniMannheim event as well as other workshops. TED, or Technology, Entertainment, Design, is an event concept from the US which provides a platform for ideas worth spreading. Short presentations are designed to inspire people and make new ideas accessible to them. TEDxUniMannheim take place every September. Artists, entrepreneurs and scholars are invited to the event to present new or unique ideas. You can also find the presentations from the event on YouTube.

  • Nice to meet you Mannheim

    Nice to meet you Mannheim supports refugees in the city. The organization helps refugees to integrate into society. It also works to remove prejudices and reservations between refugees and the other citizens of Mannheim by providing extra tuition, and organizing barbecues and sports activities.

    An important project of the organization is “Müttersprache”. It offers free German lessons to women with a migratory background. The aim is to prepare the participants for the B1 German certificate. To ensure that also mothers can join the lessons without problems, the initiative organizes parallel childcare. Here, the children can discover the German language in a playful atmosphere.

  • PRO BONO Mannheim – Studentische Rechtsberatung

    Students from across the University of Mannheim can join PRO BONO and provide free legal advice on matters relating to private law, residence law and asylum law. The organization is supported by professors and lawyers. PRO BONO also regularly provides consultation hours for refugees.

  • Q-Summit an der Universität Mannheim e.V.

    The Q-Summit is a conference on entrepreneurship and innovation which is organized by students. The two-and-a-half day conference attracts over 500 visitors and features pitch battles, workshops, panel discussions and a start-up village. Our members can get involved with the conference by developing the event concept, providing IT support, finding speakers and sponsors, and organizing and marketing the event.

    Members of ROCK YOUR LIFE! mentor pupils as they transition from school to the workplace.   • Studenten bilden Schüler

    Studenten bilden Schüler is a national organization which supports children from low-income families by providing private tuition free of charge. Students meet with school pupils each week to give them extra support in subjects that they find difficult. All of the tutors meet up two to three times per semester to share ideas and plan new projects.

    The Studenteninitiative für Kinder is a charitable organization which helps disadvantaged children to improve their grades at school and their career prospects for later life.   • UNICEF Hochschulgruppe Mannheim

    Members of the UNICEF Hochschulgruppe support UNICEF’s work around the world. The organization is committed to improving the rights of children, including the right to education and equal opportunities. By hosting events such as the annual Hochschullauf (a mini marathon at the university), Christmas activities, and presentations, the organization is able to draw attention to UNICEF projects and actively support them by collecting financial donations.
