CHE Ranking

The University of Mannheim has, once again, been ranked highly in the latest university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (CHE). With its programs in Business Administration and Law, the university is ranked one of the top institutions and with its programs in Economics, the university is one of the higher education institutions with the most top scores nationwide. The programs in Business Informatics rank above or significantly above average in almost all categories. In recent years, the University of Mannheim has regularly achieved top positions in the CHE ranking, also for its programs in Humanities and Social Sciences.

The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed university ranking in German-speaking countries. In addition to looking at facts relating to programs of study, teaching, equipment, and research, the ranking also takes student opinions on the study conditions at their institution into account. This year was the first year in which students also evaluated digital teaching. Each year, a third of the subjects are newly examined.

QS Ranking

The University of Mannheim is the fourth best university in the category “Social Sciences and Management” in the current “QS World University Ranking by Subject”. It was particularly successful in the areas of Accounting & Finance and Business & Management Studies, where it ranked first in Germany in each case. In Economics & Econometrics it ranked second. Overall, Mannheim is hence the best-ranked German university in business and economics. Moreover, the university also placed among the top ten best German universities in each of the other areas evaluated (political science, sociology, and media and communication studies, as well as psychology, which is part of the Life Sciences & Medicine category).

The “QS World University Rankings by Subject“ are published every year and this year rank more than 1,500 universities worldwide in terms of their research reputation, the number and quality of their publications, and the reputation of graduates with employers.
