Management Structure

The Board of Directors, consisting of three members, manages the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) of the University of Mannheim. The Vice President for Research of the University of Mannheim, a member of the Research Strategy Committee (Forschungsstrategiekommission (ForSK)) and another professor of the university are the members of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is advised by the nine external members of the Scientific Advisory Board, which also serves as a selection committee.  The Scientific Advisory Board and the Board of Directors select about five fellows for each semester in a two-stage process. At the request of the fellows and with the approval of the Board of Directors, visiting researchers may also be accepted.
