The future of financial education: Aiming for effectivity, sustainability, and inclusion

20 – 22 November 2023 | Mannheim, Germany

Financial education is on the rise and in many places it is receiving the attention it needs in view of the current challenges. But what does effective, sustainable, and inclusive financial education look like for all population groups? What content should be addressed, when, for whom and by whom? Which teaching-learning arrangements should be used? What educational policy and contextual conditions are needed? These and other questions on financial education of the future will be discussed at the 3rd MIFE Annual Conference on November 20, 2023 in Mannheim with high-ranking representatives from science, politics and practice.

Keynote lectures (among others):

  • Jens Brandenburg (Parliamentary Secretary of State at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research)
  • Bernadene de Clercq (University of South Africa)
  • Annamaria Lusardi (George Washington University und Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center)

As in previous years, we are also pleased to organise the interdisciplinary MIFE Early Career Workshop (November 21–22, 2023). We invite early career researchers from the fields of economics, household finance, business education, psychology, and related disciplines to submit their papers. Together with the sponsor Deutsche Bundesbank, we will select the most outstanding contribution for the Young Researcher Award for Financial Literacy (€5,000).

Paper submission for the Early Career Workshop and the Deutsche Bundesbank Young Researcher Award
