Green Finance

Households’ Sustainable Financial Investments and Financial Literacy

Sustainable investments and corporate social responsibility have reached the mainstream of research in household finance. In order to meet the Paris Climate Agreement the economy needs to undergo a major transformation. One important channel through which this can be achieved is by easing the access to capital for environmentally-friendly businesses. Hence, investigating households’ engagement in the market for sustainable investments is a key to understanding how green finance can support green corporate activities. We will provide insights into households’ perspectives for sustainable investments on the basis of survey data and examine the role of financial literacy in this context.
