Open Science Grants 2024: Call for application

The University of Mannheim is committed to the goals of transparent and inclusive research practices, open access to scientific results, and reproducibility of research results. In the course of this, the Open Science Office invites applications for Open Science Grants for research projects and events related to Open Science. The Open Science aspects can be realised in the thematic orientation of the project, the methods used, or the objective.

The Open Science Grants are aimed at researchers from all schools, departments and scientific institutions of the university. The following are eligible to apply: officially accepted doctoral candidates, as well as postdocs and (junior)professors employed mainly at the University of Mannheim. Applications can be made for up to EUR 6,500 for a project period of up to one year (June 2024–June 2025).

Those with and without experience in open, transparent and reproducible research are both strongly encouraged to apply. The Open Science Office can help and advise those who are not familiar with Open Science practices.

Open Science Grants Awardees

A total of 36 applications have been submitted for the Open Science Grants. Of these, 12 projects were awarded an Open Science Grant  for a total amount of 47,177 EURs.
