The Open Science Office of the University of Mannheim was established in February 2021. It is linked to the University Library and is a point of contact for everything related to Open Science.
The Open Science Office supports researchers at all career stages and from all disciplines. We offer Open Science Checks to examine each researchers’ potential and support the implementation of Open Science techniques into their research. Via training in various formats as well as our upcoming website, information on Open Science can be obtained. Funding is provided for Open Science research projects (Open Science Grants) and can be applied for conference visits or research stays that focus on Open Science.
We are happy to answer questions like
How can I make my research more open?
How and where to do preregistration?
Is my research well documented to be reproducible?
Within the University of Mannheim, support in the Open Science core fields is provided for instance by the Open Access Representative, the Research Data Center, the Research Support Unit and other players. The Open Science Office interconnects these points of contact to support researchers. Furthermore, these various points of contact are bundled and integrated to achieve an institutionalized approach that includes an Open Science perspective on research, teaching and citizen science.
The Open Science Office is supported through the organizational integration and the administrative substructure of the University of Mannheim, which build a framework in which we operate. Through our national and international connections, we promote an institutionalized approach on Open Science.
