Why I chose this program

The program in Business Informatics provides you with broad and fundamental knowledge of informatics, economics, and mathematics. It focuses on the field of informatics, though. You will first learn the theories and then apply them during hands-on programming classes and seminars. Later in the program you also get the opportunity to specialize in the areas you like most.

I have always enjoyed algorithmic processes and analytical ways of working. Since I started to be interested in computer science shortly before finishing highschool, I decided to study. However, a complete program in Computer Science would have been too much for me, which is why I particularly liked the economic and business component of business informatics and finally decided to pursue this program.

What you need to know

  • Clichés

Only nerds study Business Informatics? People generally associate informatics with nerds who never leave their room. Reality looks different, though. Most people I met here are very nice and communicative, and have many different interests and backgrounds. My peers don’t just stare at their computers all alone, but are usually very funny and enjoy going out.
