The new Copilot Chat app is now available in M365.
The new Copilot Chat app in M365 is now available to all members of the university, for example via the app launchpad in the top-left corner of Planner or directly through the Microsoft 365 Copilot desktop app. You can install Copilot Chat from the Microsoft apps in the top-right corner.
Copilot Chat is not the same as M365 Copilot. They differ in terms of functionality and integration. While M365 Copilot can access tenant data and thus your personal data, Copilot Chat explicitly cannot. Even if it seems to display your own documents, it has no access to them.
With the Copilot Chat app, you have access to the internet. You can start a chat in the chat interface and decide for yourself what data you want to enter, while respecting copyright laws. With Copilot Chat, you can
- have texts summarized and generated,
- have images generated,
- and have simple data analyzed.
