Young Economy Tracker (YET)
Young people play a central role in the economy and society. Yet their perspective on economic policy is often overlooked in many decision-making processes. The Bertelsmann Stiftung's “Young Economy Tracker” project therefore aims to develop a sound understanding of young people's individual and collective perceptions of the economy and their views on economic policy.
To this end, a comprehensive review was conducted to analyze existing studies that provide insights into young people's economic attitudes. The next step will be to develop a dedicated survey instrument – the Young Economy Tracker. The project follows a participatory approach and is accompanied by a group of young people.
The study aims to make young people's views on economic policy more visible and to provide an evidence-based foundation for economic policy decisions. The goal is to ensure that policy decisions affecting future generations are based on facts, truly reflect young people's perspectives, and are not influenced by hearsay or prejudice.
