Speaker Bio
Sorabh Tomar is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business PhD, Accounting, University of Chicago. He studies the effects of disclosure regulation in both corporate and non-corporate arenas. Tomar has empirically investigated whether disclosure can ameliorate a negative externality driven by firm outputs, and how a change in performance-disclosure regime affects a contracting agent's effort. He has a growing interest in firms' CSR/environmental performance disclosures, and believes these disclosures' prominence will only increase with time. Tomar completed his PhD in accounting at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and earned bachelor's degrees in Commerce and Science at The University of Melbourne.
