Baden-Württemberg Certificate for Teaching and Learning at University Level
Teachers at the University of Mannheim can earn the Baden-Württemberg Certificate for Teaching and Learning at University Level to further improve their teaching skills. The qualification consists of three modules that systematically follow each other. In addition to participating in peer consultations and classroom observations, you will continue your training in several didactic workshops. The qualification is completed with a final project of your choice.
Possible specializations
In Module 2, you have the opportunity to choose a field you want to specialize in and put together an individual program.
You need to choose at least one course from each of the four fields: (1) Planning, organizing and teaching courses, (2) Advising, supporting and examining students, (3) Evaluating and reflecting on teaching, (4) Innovating and developing teaching curricula.
You can decide for yourself in which areas you would like to improve in, for example, through workshops on e-learning, conducting exams, or communication training. This allows you to focus on the topics that are or will be particularly relevant to your own teaching practice.
Internationally recognized certification process
Participating in the certification program gives you the opportunity to rethink your current understanding of your role as a teacher, further professionalize your methods, and achieve your personal teaching goals.
Today, didactic qualifications are becoming more and more important for a successful professorial appointment. The Baden-Württemberg Certificate is internationally recognized as a qualification and is highly regarded in appointment procedures. It is issued by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg (MWK).
The certificate is open to all teachers at the University of Mannheim. If you are interested in earning this certificate, please contact Ms. Bröcher.
