Copilot Chat (Basic)
Microsoft Copilot Chat (Basic) offers you a secure AI chat that includes, inter alia, the following features:
- accessing the Internet
- summarizing and generating texts
- generating images
- analyzing simple data
Copilot Chat (Basic) vs. Copilot Premium
Copilot Chat (Basic) is not the same as Copilot Premium. They differ with regard to the features included and their integration.

How do I use Copilot Chat (Basic)?
- Web browser: https://m365.cloud.microsoft/chat/
- If you experience any problems in Firefox, use a Chromium-based browser, such as Chrome or Edge, instead.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot desktop app: You can install this app via the button in the top right corner of the list of Microsoft apps.
If you open the application, Copilot will directly be displayed. - In individual Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Teams): Within your application, you will find the Copilot icon under Home in the top right corner.
Enter your prompt to start the chat.
