Randomly generated Uni-IDs for new students and employees starting April 1, 2026

The Uni-ID is your unique identifier at the University of Mannheim. It authenticates members of the University of Mannheim and, together with your password, serves as identification for many IT services. As of April 1, 2026, new Uni-IDs will be generated randomly for information security reasons.

The following applies to new members of the university starting April 1, 2026:

• Your Uni-ID will be generated randomly and will not include your name.
• The Uni-ID consists of randomly generated letters and numbers.

For everyone else who received their Uni-ID before the effective date, the Uni-ID will remain unchanged.
