Cost Dynamics of Clean Energy Technologies

Rebecca Meier gave an elevator pitch on cost dynamics of clean energy technologies at the Mannheim BWL Partners Association meeting. The elevator pitch presents current research and draws out relevance for ranking current government goals.

Meier presented to the members of the association the learning rates for key components of clean energy systems, such as photovoltaic solar panels, as well as the life-cycle costs of clean energy generation, such as wind energy and hydrogen produced by electrolysis.

Meier's conclusion: “The energy transition is a daunting task, BUT we can already achieve many of our goals with existing technologies, provided we expand these technologies quickly and at the appropriate scale.”
