The organization “Freunde der Universität Mannheim” (Friends of the University of Mannheim) supports the university on its way to the top. In return, the university gives a lot back to its supporters – for example, they receive privileged access to outstanding students and scientists. We will present our goals and services on these pages.
Get-together of scholarship holders of the Friends of the University of Mannheim
On March 20, this year's scholarship recipients' meeting of the “Friends of the University of Mannheim” took place at Kaffee Kult in Mannheim – an event that has now firmly established itself in the calendar.
Once again this year, numerous scholarship holders came together to share their experiences, study paths and future plans.
Dr. Carl Otto Schill, an alumnus of Business Administration at the University of Mannheim, took part on behalf of the Friends' Executive Board. The pleasant atmosphere provided an opportunity for open discussions not only about everyday student life, but also about international perspectives. It was remarkable how many of the students are designing their studies with a clear international focus: Even if not all of them have to complete a compulsory period of study abroad, the majority are still planning to study abroad.
“After several hours of inspiring discussions in a relaxed atmosphere, the meeting ended with the feeling that we had spent an enriching evening – with interesting insights, new contacts and the shared awareness of being part of a committed network,” said Friends Board Member Schill, summing up the evening.
