Migration Phase Ends: Decommissioning of the bwCloud-OS Gen2 Infrastructure Starts on 15 October 2026

With the introduction of bwCloud-OS (Gen3), the next generation of the cloud infrastructure has successfully entered production as part of the bwCloud3 project. The migration from the previous Gen2 platform to the new Gen3 environment is now approaching completion.

End of the Migration Phase and Next Steps

On 15 October 2026, the transition period during which shut-down Gen2 resources were retained in a paused state comes to an end. Projects that have not been migrated, along with their associated resources, will subsequently be deleted. This clears the way for the retirement of the previous infrastructure.

Decommissioning of the Gen2 environment will then begin. This process includes the gradual dismantling of the existing infrastructure and the associated final operational activities.

Information for Users

Users are asked to ensure that all projects, data, and applications they still require have been migrated to bwCloud-OS (Gen3). After the transition period expires, any remaining Gen2 resources will no longer be available.
