ecUM – electronic card University of Mannheim
The ecUM, your digital student ID, combines many services of the University of Mannheim in one single card
Starting on 1 July 2025, the ecUM will have a new design. There will no longer be a photo on the front of the card. Please note that the ecUM is only valid with an official photo ID. Existing cards can still be used. Only if your ecUM is lost, defective, or your status changes, you will receive a new replacement ecUM card without photo.
You want to prove your student status or use a locker at the University Library? Or would you like to pay your Mensa meal without cash?
You can benefit from these and many more services by using the ecUM:
- as a library ID card (with personal global user ID)
- for cashless payment at the Mensa, EO Cafeteria and Café Soleil
- to use the lockers at the University Library
- to transfer money to your print account

Service availability
We guarantee a 99.9 percent service availability. However, we cannot exclude downtime in individual cases.
