Request for De-registration from an Exam for Valid Reasons

Doctoral students who are unable to take an examination due to illness or another valid reason must submit the Request for De-registration from an Exam for Valid Reasons.

Please note that the German version of the form is legally binding. An English translation is provided for convenience.

Important information:

• In cases of illness, the application must be accompanied by a qualified medical certificate. The medical certificate should generally be obtained on the day of the examination.
• In cases of other valid reasons (e.g. the death of a close relative), the application must be submitted together with a written explanation and any relevant supporting documents.
• All documents must be submitted without undue delay, meaning at the earliest possible opportunity and without avoidable delay.
