Description:
The rise of cryptocurrencies has created momentum for distributed ledger technologies, like Blockchain, just as the Friday for Future protests have for sustainability. Unsurprisingly, both are among the most prominent terms discussed by academic as well as industry supply chain audiences.
To address this novel intersection, our research project reviews the enabling roles of blockchain technology in supply chain sustainability and conceptualizes the corresponding domains. Causal relationships in existing and new fields of supply chain management illuminate how increases in value, trust, inclusiveness and economic as well as environmental efficiency can result from this novel technology and how all drive sustainability.
