Policy brief “Dare more training! Barriers and opportunities for hiring refugees in German companies”

The Mercator Foundation-funded project “Skilled workers of the future or marginalised in the long term?” is investigating various ways in which formally marginally qualified refugees can successfully and sustainably integrate into the German labour market. In the first policy brief, the team led by project managers Dr Christoph Sajons (ifm Mannheim) and Prof. Dr Christina Felfe de Ormeño (Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg) describe the results of a survey of over 1,000 training companies in southern Germany, in which a selection experiment is used to analyse the decisive factors for hiring refugees as trainees.
