Entrepreneurship, understood as the recognition and exploitation of entrepreneurial opportunities, is a key driver of economic growth, social change and technological progress. The Entrepreneurship research area at ifm Mannheim is concerned with the person of the company founder and the founding team(Entrepreneurs and Teams), with the entrepreneurial project and the developing organisation (Entrepreneurial Organisations) as well as with the entrepreneurial environment in which the person and the project are embedded(Entrepreneurial Ecosystems and Innovations).

The MCEI (Mannheim Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation) is an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental centre for entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of Mannheim. MCEI offers a special platform for young entrepreneurs, potential founders, students, sponsors and investors.
