He is investigating the use of artificial intelligence in data collection

Robert Dehghan, researcher at the Chair of SME Research and Entrepreneurship, successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Mannheim on March 17, 2026, and earned his Ph.D. with summa cum laude. His work focused on the diffusion and application of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. In doing so, he applied new methods of data collection and analysis. Parts of the dissertation have already been published in prestigious academic journals and address the use of artificial intelligence as a method for data collection and its impact on businesses. His publications address, among other things, epidemic effects in the diffusion of emerging digital technologies, the adoption of blockchain in the US, the diffusion of technologies using AI, and the WebAI paradigm of innovation research.
