Mailman

Mailman is a program for managing mailing lists. With Mailman, you can manage mailing lists. You can create your own mailing lists to send e-mails to multiple recipients simultaneously or subscribe to existing lists if you want to regularly receive information on specific topics.

Creating a mailing list

The IT support will create a new mailing list for you. Please complete the online form Requesting a mailing list in order to do so. As soon as the mailing list has been created, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the login information and other details.

Please note:

  • The name of the mailing list will be used as e-mail address for receiving and sending e-mails. Please use only lower case letters. After the list has been created, it is no longer possible to change the name.
  • You have to name an owner of the mailing list. As soon as the list has been created, the owner will be notified and will receive the password for the list. The owner is able to change the password and make others co-owners or moderators.
