AI in Central Banking – Francesco Cometa

Following the strong interest in his previous visit, which attracted more than 80 participants, Francesco Cometa, Principal Supervisor at the European Central Bank, returns with a new talk titled “AI in Central Banking”.

The presentation will provide insights into the use of artificial intelligence in monetary policy and banking supervision. Drawing on his experience at the ECB, Mr. Cometa will present concrete applications and business cases, highlighting how AI is shaping modern central banking practices.

Francesco Cometa is an On-Site Inspector in Banking Supervision at the ECB, specializing in credit risk, IT risk, and risk management. He has been involved in developing innovative IT platforms and has taught at the ECB and Bocconi University.
