Since fall 2022, the Mannheim Center for Data Science and the European University jointly organize the lecture series “Data Science in Action”. Experts from the University of Mannheim and other international universities are involved.
The aim of the lecture series is to highlight the diverse fields of application of data science and to provide exciting insights into the associated research. In 45-minute lectures, renowned scientists provide insights into a range of topics, which are then discussed with the participants.
The lecture series is both interdisciplinary and international. The lecturers come from the University of Mannheim and from partner universities that are part of the European University Alliance ENGAGE.EU, a consortium of leading European universities in economics and social sciences. They represent a wide range of subject areas, including computer science, economics, business administration, social sciences and humanities, to reflect the diverse fields of application of data science.
In addition to students of the Mannheim Master in Data Science and doctoral students at the Mannheim Graduate School (GESS), master's students from engage.eu partner universities are also able to apply for a place on the course and take an exam. However, all lectures are also open to the public as guest listeners. The lectures take place online via Zoom (usually on Thursdays from 12 to 1:30 p.m.). After registering on our website, you will receive the access link by email.
