Mannheim Local Learner Chapter

The ENGAGE.EU Local Learner Chapters offers a multifaceted semester program aiming to provide interested students with knowledge and information about the current challenges Europe is facing. Participants will gain an insight into the different countries of our ENGAGE.EU partner universities as well as into their culture and languages. They will also have the opportunity to exchange views on their special interests as well as topics related to Europe with like-minded students from different disciplines and semesters.

Overview

  • Structure

The semester program consists of various in-person events such as lectures, workshops and country evenings. In short presentations, representatives of the ENGAGE.EU partner universities address European challenges and introduce their countries and cultures in interactive formats. The events will be held in English.

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to network and discuss what you have learned over a brown bag dinner with food you have brought yourself. The semester program is open to all students of the University of Mannheim of all semesters (Bachelor to doctoral students) and disciplines.

Europe's diversity is characterized by various countries, cultures, languages, and mentalities. Being part of the European Union, we need to face up to intercultural challenges and build long-term networks in order to ensure that international exchange works. For, it is only together that we can address issues relevant to society, such as climate change, digitalization, or the energy crisis.
