After completing a commercial apprenticeship at Dorint AG and studying Business Administration at the University of Mannheim, Annegret Hauer works as a research associate at the ifm Mannheim.

Her research focuses on the significance of family businesses in Germany. She regularly compiles a list of the 500 largest family businesses in Germany and tracks their development. Additionally, she is currently conducting empirical studies on shareholder retention and entrepreneurial orientation in family businesses.
